doesn't relate to assignment, but spring break reflection

Hey Y’all! I hope all of you enjoyed the Spring Break, and ready now to really work hard until the end of the semester. My Spring Break really was pretty relaxing, but also squeezed in a little homework time being the nerd that I am. (haha)

3 museum websites to review

All museums are diverse with unusual types of collections, but they do have one thing in common. An historic site, art gallery, and science museum all rely on visitors and the public to educate and to conduct a business. The website for Historic Kenmore and Historic Ferry Farm is an example of an historic site. Chason Galleries has a website and is an illustration of an art gallery. COSI is a model for a science museum with a very easy and efficient website. Even though a website is not the museum itself, it should be an approach for a museum to make known to the community what they are doing. A website conveys who and what the museum is all about.

Germanna!

Conceptionizing the Frontier: Some themes to consider

Germanna started out as Mannahoack Territory, and then became a military outpost. After being used by the military, Germanna became a plantation society. For a short time it was the county seat where the courts were held.

shelfari.com, the wonderful world of books!

This website is a great site for interaction. It allows for a user to add books that he/she has enjoyed to a virtual bookshelf. By adding books to the bookshelf, then they are sharing what they have read to other viewers. When they share what they have read, they can give their opinion about the book. In addition, if they choose, then they start an interesting discussion about the book. Discussions are a great way to interact and learn about the world and different books.
